KTC Team Competition
The KTC Grand Prix Team
Program is a series of races in the Knoxville area. Teams compete under uniform
rules and qualify for race and year-end awards and recognition. Divisions for
the 2012 season are Open, Co-Ed, and Women's. There is no Corporate Division at
this time. Companies wishing to compete can do so in one of the categories listed
above.

Divisions
Open - Teams of 4 or more
that are less than 50% female. Can be all male.
Women - Teams
of 3 or more that are all female.
Co-Ed - Teams of 4 or more
that are at least 50% female. Team score will be determined by top 2 male and
top 2 female finishers.
Note: KTC Staff will determine category for
any mixed teams prior to race day.
Registration and Pricing
Teams will receive a special discount to be $5 off lowest race entry fee.
Example: Lowest fee is $20 then cost per team member is $15 or if lowest fee is $35 then cost per team member is $30. Team Captains also have the choice of using the no shirt option to add a deeper discount.
All team captains should register their teams for free using the online registration system (See link at top of page). Teams are not allowed to register via paper entry form at this time. Team Captains will be contacted by e-mail prior to each race to confirm their roster.
No roster changes can be made on race day. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Teams registering online will need to make payment prior to race day or on race day or they will not be counted in results.

Scoring
For all team races, each team's score will be determined by the cumulative times of their top four runners for Open and Co-Ed teams and top three runners for Women's teams.
Point totals
for the Grand Prix Team Competition Awards for all divisions will be based on
12 of 14 scores from any or all of the team races in the Open, Women's, and Co-Ed
Divisions. Points are awarded in each division at each qualifying event as follows:
1st = 5 pts, 2nd = 4 pts, 3rd = 3 pts, 4th = 2 pts.
Volunteering
Team
Captains and Members are encouraged to volunteer for Knoxville Track Club events
or to assist KTC Staff at Non-KTC races. Volunteers will receive a $5 coupon good
toward entry fee of any KTC race including the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon
or merchandise or t-shirts. Coupons can be given to Team Captains and utilized
at any time toward entry fees. Volunteer coupons do not expire. Volunteer time
can be done before, during, or after KTC events. For Non-KTC races, volunteer
time is spent at the finish line. Please contact Mike Wortley, Event Manager,

Awards
Teams will receive recognition at each race but there will be no individual race awards. Team Captains and Owners will be presented with the Team Competition Cups on New Year's Day of each year. Final standings from the previous year will be announced at this time.
Results
Results will be posted following each race on the KTC Website.
