Our neighbor to the west in the 'Science City', sponsors of several races each year, including the Crossroads Women's 5k and the Oak Ridge Half-Marathon. They also assist the KTC with the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon and the Youth Athletics summer track program. This site has map links to the extensive Oak Ridge greenway system.
A good neighbor club in Maryville/Alcoa TN. They have the wonderful fortune to live astride a most excellent Greenway which snakes almost nine miles through both towns in both rural and city environs. The club puts on several good races during the year and have a strong bike component as well.
One of the best little running clubs in the country, the SFTC has staged some of the best races in the southeast, including the Crazy Eights 8K, site of the 1996 world record run by Kenyan Peter Mwan Githuka. Their "Running Diary" function allows runners to store their runs and times in the club database. The times can then be shared/compared with others. The database has received entries from all around the country.
Our neighbors 90 miles to the south, these folks have staged for more than thirty years one of the best 15K races around, the Chickamauga Chase. They put on a very good race schedule throughout the year.
Located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the Roadkill Running Club is a group of individuals whose mission is to promote running, walking and general fitness as lifelong endeavors thorough activities and events that promote the pure enjoyment of the sport.
Many KTC members are also GKTC members and very much enjoy participating in triathlons.
