DESCRIPTION
Event: The Elf off the Shelf 5k and 1 mile Kids Fun Run
Date: Saturday December 18th
Location: Central High School 5321 Jacksboro Pike
Event starting times: 1 mile kids run starts at 8:30am and 5K starts at 9:00am
Details: Central High School Track and Field team is doing a fundraiser to raise money for new equipment and to repair the facilities. This event will be a chip timed run/walk event. Since this is a Christmas themed event, WE encourage all runners and walkers to please come out in your Christmas apparel. Come dressed as an elf, reindeer, Grinch, Santa Claus or just wear jingle bells on your shoes. This is a fun time for the Fountain City community to come out to have a blast and embrace the Christmas spirit.
Course Description:
-Both courses will start and finish in the Central parking lot.
-Both courses will run by the track/football field, the stadium, and field house. Christmas music will be playing on both courses.
-The 5k course will head out on the beautiful Dogwood Trail and through Fountain City neighborhoods, and around the sports complex.
-Law enforcement will be on the course to direct traffic along with volunteers.
-Water stations will be at Mile 1, Mile 2, and at the Track.
Awards: For the 5K event, top 4 males and females overall will receive Elf medallions. There will also be awards/gifts given for 1st place in the following age groups 14 and under, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55+ For the 1 mile kids run, each participant will receive a ribbon.
Tee shirts: Each participant will receive a tee shirt for the 5K event if they register BEFORE Friday November 28th.
Registration: Online registration closes on Saturday December 18th. You may register at Central High School’s cafeteria on Friday December 18th from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and on Saturday December 18th from 7:30am – 8:30am in the cafeteria.
Packet Pick up: You may pick up your packet at Central High School’s cafeteria on Friday December 18th from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and on Saturday December 18th from 7:00am – 8:30am in the cafeteria. This will include race bib, tee shirt, event info.
