March 29, 2026It was truly a fabulous day yesterday for our return engagement at Concord Park. Yes, the 2026 edition of The Trails That Can’t Be Concord was a stunning success, with registration number climbing 40% higher than last year’s great turnout and a spring day that felt almost summerlike with its balmy temps and light breezes. A perfect day for a nearly perfect trail race.
In the 20k race, Jeremy Donahue stormed to victory by pulling away in the second lap and earning the win with a strong time of 1:39:06. Not much more than a minute back was Overall Female titlist Eden Slater, who was timed in 1:40:31. Jamie McCart (1:42:42) was second male and third overall, with Eli Baldy (1:48:28) third male finisher. Eleanor McDonough (1:54:40) and Caitlyn Parsons (1:58:56) finished second and third among the women in the long race.
Thirteen-year old Mark Galbraith of Alcoa emerged victorious in the 10k, clocking a fine 50:56 finishing time. Two minutes back was Daniel Zimmerman (52:54), with Anthony Costanzo just a little ways back in 54:05. Masters runner Eileen Marcillo won the women’s 10k, running 1:03:15. She was followed by Jennifer Steadman (1:04:26) and Jen Shaffer (1:05:22) in a dominating performance by masters women, who claimed the top four spots in the 10k.
An exciting Kids Trail Mile kicked off the day’s events, with 11-year old James Wright of Morristown earning the crown with his speedy time of 9:48. Fastest girl finisher and second overall was Kavannah Addington (10:27), with brother Karsten Addington third overall, running a strong 10:34.
Congratulations to the top runners, as well as to everyone else who finished these exciting races. Full results can be viewed here. Scroll the dropdowns to view each race’s results, including the age and gender division results.
A big salute to our newest TTT race director, Nate Helton, who did an admirable job stewarding his first race. Along with a large contingent of the TTT crew and a huge group of volunteers, Nate spent a lot of time and energy putting together another great Treadin’ Trodden Trails event.
Thanks to all the generous and active sponsors who contribute to making Treadin’ Trodden Trails the best trail running series in the Eastern US. All our sponsor logos appear toward the bottom of this email. We offer big thanks to all, and urge everyone to avail themselves of the fine products and services offered by each !!!
Another shoutout to all our volunteers, especially another large contingent from the Tennessee Running Club, who all teamed up to ensure that the race went on safely and happily. We can never thank y’all enough. Those who have never volunteered at a race – especially a trail race – really need to pick out an event and join the crazy crew that puts on these marvelous events. You’ll realize that it’s just as much fun, maybe not cardiovascularly, but in a different and highly rewarding way.
It was also the debut of our new Treadin’ Trodden Trails logo hoodie that was offered for sale, along with along fun and fashionable items, at the race registration site. Check out all our TTT merch at this link.
Don’t forget the TTT Grand Prix. We keep track of points that accrue during the season. Top three finishers in each of the four divisions—as long as they’re KTC members and volunteer at least twice at TTT races—will be awarded valuable prizes at the end of the year. Updated standing have already been submitted for publication online.
You’ll have to wait a minute for our next race but it’ll be a doozy. It’s our annual night race, Hann Jivin’ in the Dark, being held again this year in South Knoxville at Anderson School/Head Start on Prospect Rd. It’s a six-mile circuitous journey, largely through the Helix Trail System that many of you have not explored yet, so this’ll be a great opportunity to get acquainted with yet another fantastic Knoxville trail system. This link takes you directly to the signup page.
If you have any questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out to KTC’s Treadin’ Trodden Trails Series Director Michael deLisle at trails@ktc.org or call 865.548.4718.
See you on the trails !!!
