When To Sign Up for Your Next Race (And When Not To)
May 17, 2026Knoxville Track Club kicks off the Summer Development Track and Field Program on 5/26 for four weeks of Fun, Fitness and Finish Lines. This is the program where many high school stars were first introduced to track and field. With practice locations in Knox and surrounding counties, this is a great program to promote to friends and family. For just $60, they receive four weeks of practices and meets.
The Knoxville Track Club Summer Competitive Team takes athletes who are already at the regional and national level and takes them to greater heights! Competing on the AAU circuit, we will host the SEAAU District Championships on 6/13 and AAU Region 6 Championships 6/24-27 with the goal of qualifying athletes for the AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, IA in late summer.

Fall is around the corner and the KTC Summer Cross Country Program is where athletes receive a head start on the competition. Train three days a week with athletes from all over the community and gain new friends while building your base training for the best season of your life!

How can you be involved?
We need those who want to be involved to contribute in one of several ways:
1) We need additional coaches for different programs. Some programs need those with past competitive experience which are typically paid while in the fall we have schools looking for a volunteer coach who can simply be there and encourage the kids to excel. We have the templates to make you a successful coach if you have the desire to coach! While not all positions are paid, pouring into helping the next generation is always worth it!
2) Officials are a big point of emphasis in the next year. Track and Field is running out of good officials every year and there has never been a more important time to consider officiating. Most officiating roles are paid and you will make sure that events are run properly and safely!
3) Cross Country Meet Support. The meets operate incredibly well for such a small team. We hope to grow that in 2026 by bringing in those who want to learn more about event management, race timing and program management.
Thank you for your partnership and support,
Chris Kane, President of Knoxville Youth Athletics
