Haw Ridge Trail Race Information
June 29, 2026A record 314 runners registered to run this past Saturday’s Sharps Ridge Rambler trail race and the challenging but rewarding trails of Sharps Ridge delighted every one of the runners who tested themselves on a warm, humid morning. We were thrilled with the turnout and are confident everyone enjoyed another great day in the woods.
In the long race, speedster Matt Paskov took repeated as champion, earning another TTT victory by running a blazing 45:13 (exactly one second slower than last year) to earn the crown. He was chased by Masters aces Jeremy Donahue (45:34) and Gregory Palmer (46:46). Quickest female was Ji Yie Denise Chen, who ran 51:51, followed by Anna Bagley (55:27) and Skylan Bracey (56:57), who claimed second and third place respectively.
The four mile race was dominated by 17-year old Cade Duncanson, who absolutely scorched the course, turning in a time of 28:00. An even younger speedster finished second, 13-year old Mark Galbraith, timed in 36:11. Third place went to Male Masters champ Matthew Sterling (36:38). Women’s titlist was Elizabeth Klavon, who clocked 38:07 (and finished fourth overall!). She was followed across the line by Lauren Roach (43:33) and Amanda Galbraith (46:21).
We also had a repeat winner in the exciting Kids Trail Mile, as Hub Shriverdecker careened down the final hill to cross the line in 7:19 (two seconds faster than his winning time from last year), chased closely by the fastest girl, Esperanza Marcillo, who was timed in 7:21. It was a fast and furious Kids Mile, to say the least, as fully half the runners came in under ten minutes.
Complete race results, thanks to race timer Tony Owens, can be viewed here and nifty finish line videos can be viewed by clicking on the camera icon by each runner’s result. We’re also delighted to offer a wonderful gallery of race photos, courtesy of Leah Hart Photography, that can be viewed here.
We had terrific volunteer support that helped make our race a great success. Thanks to everyone who pitched in, especially those who did double and even triple duty. If you’ve never volunteered at a TTT event, you’re missing something unique and really fun. Try it one of these days. You won’t regret it !!
Just another reminder that we have TTT hoodies, hats, and stickers for sale in our online store and also have them at races for purchase. Visit our online store at this link. And don’t forget the TTT Grand Prix. We keep track of points that accrue during the season. Top three finishers in each of the four divisions—as long as they’re KTC members and volunteer at least twice at TTT races—will be awarded valuable prizes at the end of the year. Updated points should be online within a day or so.
If you have any questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out to KTC’s Treadin’ Trodden Trails Series Director Michael deLisle at [email protected] or call 865.548.4718.
