Board members are selected from the membership. Invitations are typically made by the board as vacancies occur. Directors set policy, oversee finances, and provide direction to the KTC staff. Throughout their tenure, Directors may serve on committees tasked to recommend special initiatives to the full board. Directors are expected to attend a minimum of nine (of twelve total) monthly meetings each year. Candidates must be active members in good standing and must have agreed to accept the responsibilities of the office.
The board currently meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. All meetings are open, and all members are invited to attend. Meetings are currently held at The Casual Pint Northshore (2045 Thunderhead Road, Knoxville).
Those interested in becoming a board member should see the information below and contact [email protected] before October 1, 2025.

Board of Directors
Amber Lynn Carroll

Amber began her career working as a sports broadcast journalist and stands with years of experience as an award-winning anchor and field reporter.
Her passion for storytelling brought her to life coaching, where she helps others discover their life stories.
Another deeply personal and core aspect of Amber’s story is the non-profit organization she and her husband, alongside her parents, created in memory of her brother, Jake, who lost his life to suicide. After experiencing that tragic loss, Amber became a mental health awareness and suicide prevention advocate. Her non-profit, We Are Team Jake, focuses on telling her brother’s story as a way to end the stigma and empower others who are struggling to give voice to their pain and to know they are not alone.
She was a 40 Under 40 Recipient as a University of Tennessee Alumni and currently stands as the host of Living East Tennessee- a lifestyle show in Knoxville!
Amber is an avid runner, and always looking for the next race!
