Every year, the Knoxville Track Club has a lot to celebrate! Staff, the Board of Directors, Key Volunteers, and the many race volunteers are proud to offer the following:

  • A year round racing schedule including 22 road race events including the EXPO 10k/5k, the Pilot Fireball Moonlight Classic 5k, the Pigeon Forge Half Marathon, Relay, and 5k, and the Regal Entertainment Group Turkey Trot 5k and Little Gobbler Run.
  • A year round schedule of 12 regionally acclaimed off-road races ranging from 5k to 50k, as well as eight one-mile trail races for kids.
  • The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon takes place in annually in the spring and is the largest road race event in the region bringing thousands of runners and walkers to the area. Now a full weekend of events, the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon continues to grow and add amenities for participants. The 2020 event will take place on March 30.
  • Youth programming including a youth running development program through the Community Schools program as well as the KTC Youth Greenway Series. In addition, the Fittest School Challenge connected to the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon engages children from 9 counties in running activities and a competition to win money for their physical education programs. Over 1400 children participate annually in the Fittest School Challenge.
  • The KTC RunKNOX program using group training sessions for individuals to achieve their goals. The program is great for participants of all fitness levels and plans are specified for each member’s goals.
  • A year round social activities schedule including weekly runs as well as special, themed runs at least one per quarter. In addition to regular and special run events, opportunities to attend baseball or football games and volunteer for other nonprofit organizations are available.
  • The Community Contribution Program in which local nonprofit organizations submit grant proposals for programs related to physical activity. Proceeds from the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon fund the Community Contribution Program.
  • The foundation for Knoxville to be a recognized RRCA Runner Friendly Community.
  • The Harold W. Canfield Memorial Scholarship, established in 2009 to memorialize the life of Hal Canfield, a founding member of the track club.
