Treadin’ Trodden Trails Grand Prix 2026 – thru Dark Hollow Wallow
February 28, 2026A big thanks to all who ran KTC’s second Treadin’ Trodden Trails race of 2026, the Dark Hollow Wallow 11M, 5M, and Kids Trail Mile on Sunday, February 22. Well done !!! We hope you had as much fun as we did !!!
We had a record number of both registrants and finishers this year, with almost 300 runners registering and more than 200 finishing the three events. Thus it was a huge crowd of trailsters who toed the start lines at Big Ridge State Park near Maynardville TN. Under the guidance of veteran Race Director Bobby Glenn, a small but dedicated troop of TTTers and other volunteers helped the chilly afternoon unfold into an marvelous festival of distance trail running. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in another fantastic TTT trail race!!!
In the 11-Mile main event, Tennessee Running Club member Dylan Leone cruised to victory, crossing the line in 1:23:53, more than eight minutes ahead of perennial podium dweller Cooper Bostrom, who was timed in 1:32:03. Masters champ Marc Runyan ran a strong 1:35:26 to claim third overall. Eleanor McDonough claimed both the women’s overall and Masters Female title, speeding to victory in 1:47:29. She was chased by Caitlyn Parsons (1:51:10) and Sophie Blondel (1:52:08), who were second and third.
Two Masters Male runners topped the five mile race, with Jamie McCart earning the win, running 42:16, half a minute ahead of rival Landon Jones (42:49). Thirteen year old Mark Galbraith finished third, running 43:17. Two 39-year old females served notice on their Masters competitors by finishing 1-2 in the women’s race. Michelle Laninga was fastest, timed in 53:49, while Amanda Brahlek’s 56:15 was good for second. Natalie Graham was third, running 57:25. Jodie Birdwell sped in just under an hour to claim the Masters Female crown.
An exciting Kids Trail Mile kicked off the day’s festivities, with Alex Padgett outrunning the field (and almost catching rabbit Tim Hill) on the fast downhill finish. Alex’s 9:21 clocking was more than a minute faster than brothers Sutton (10:50) and Hudson (11:29) Snyder, who were second and third, respectively. Right behind them was Girls Champion Esperanza Marcillo, who ran 12:13, with Kavannah Addington (12:21) second and Mallory Pechauer (13:26) third.
Complete race results, thanks to race timer Tony Owens, can be viewed here.
We had terrific volunteer support helping make our race a great success, with another huge shoutout to to the group from Tennessee Running Club! Big thanks to everyone who pitched in. If you’ve never volunteered at a TTT event, you’re missing something unique and really fun. Try it one of these days. You won’t regret it !!
We also were graced by the presence of hard charging photographer Luis Chavez, whose gallery of race photos appears here.
Big thanks to all our sponsors, whose donations and support mean so much to us. Return the favor and support them when you have a chance !!! Their logos appear at the bottom of this EBlast.
Just another reminder that we have TTT lightweight hoodies, hats, and stickers for sale in our online store and will have them at each race for purchase. Visit our online store at this link.
And don’t forget the TTT Grand Prix. We keep track of points that accrue during the season. Top three finishers in each of the four divisions—as long as they’re KTC members and volunteer at least twice at TTT races—will be awarded valuable prizes at the end of the year. Updated points are online and award winners will be announced in December.
Next Treadin’ Trodden Trails race is the third race of our 2026 season, the Trail That Can’t Be Concord, at Old Concord Park in Farragut. It’s a Saturday morning race on March 21, with 10k and 20k distance options. These are great old trails and we invite you to come celebrate the first day of Spring with us. Here’s a handy dandy registration link for Concord. Fee goes up March 13, so it’d be wise to do it now.
We’re also excited to once again offer the 2026 Treadin’ Trodden Trails Season Pass race bundles. Register here for the bundle! Still time to save money and get signed up.
If we’ve left anything out, or you have any further questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out to KTC’s Treadin’ Trodden Trails Series Director Michael deLisle at [email protected] or call 865.548.4718.
See you on the trails !!
