Date, Time, & Place: Saturday October 28th at 8:00am. The 15K will begin at 8:00am Morningside Park at the Alex Haley Statue and finish at Bearden Elementary School. This is a point-to-point race. All registration and post-race activity takes place at Bearden Elementary School. This year we are adding a 3-person relay option: each runner will run approximately a 5k, depending on where the relay exchange points will be. Each relay team is responsible for their own transportation to each exchange point. 

Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified TN19049MS . The course is a point-to-point race run almost entirely on Knoxville’s Greenways, starting at Morning Side Park and finishing at Bearden Elementary. Course closes at 10:30 sharp.

Registration & Entry Fee (NO REFUNDS AND NO TRANSFERS): 15k/relay Early registration is May 15-July 31 for $35 for 15k, $25 for relay. Registration is August 1-Oct 13 for $40, $30 for relay. Late Registration is Oct 14-Oct 27th for $45, $35 for relay. Race day registration fee is $50 for 15k.  No race day registration for relay. No t-shirt – deduct $5 anytime. Race day registration is from 6:00 -7:30 a.m. at Bearden Elementary.

Early Packet Pickup:  TBD. Race-Day Packet Pickup will begin at 6am from Bearden Elementary.

T-shirts: Unisex sizing – Anyone registering after October 10 will receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order will be placed on October 10 and when the inventory runs out in the RunSignUp system then there will be no more shirts. No re-orders.

Transportation to Morningside Park Start for 15K runners: Buses will transport runners from Bearden Elementary to Morningside Park before the race. First bus will run at 6:45 and the last one will run at 7:30.

Awards: Awards for 15k to the top 3 Overall, top Masters (As defined by fastest person age 40 and above, not limited to 40-49) Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 50 and above, not limited to 50-59), Senior Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 60 and above, not limited to 60-69) male and female. Awards to the top 3 in each age group as well as top 3 Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs.) and top 3 Athena (Women over 150 lbs.) Age Divisions will be in 5 year increments (three deep). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards. Awards must be picked up during the awards ceremony. Age division awards will not be mailed. There is no cash prize for this event.

Grand Prix Points: 
2023 Grand Prix presented by Patdome Promotions points awarded. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix awards, you must be a member of the KTC and you must volunteer for at least 3 events.

Refreshments: Refreshments provided for participants at Bearden Elementary School. 15K water stops & gel: Boat House (Mile 2.5), Tyson Park (mile 5), Corner of Sutherland/greenway at UT Rec Field (mile 7.5).

Results: Compete results will be available on the KTC Website at www.ktc.org.

Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 15K course closes in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
